Special Bond - Yulia and Abraham
/
Yulia started volunteering at HEEFS in April of 2018, and just a few weeks later Abraham arrived. Abraham and Yulia had an immediate bond as both of them were a bit uneasy around the other sheep at first. “I had never met a sheep before,” remember Yulia. “After spending time with Abraham, and then with the other sheep at HEEFS, I was surprised to find out how gentle, fun and curious they are.”
Yulia remembers that when Abraham first arrived he looked for every opportunity to escape the sheep barn and head down to the main barn where the people were. “He reminds me so much of my dog. Always demanding attention and letting me know exactly where he wants to be scratched…forehead, sides, back. And don’t even think of stopping before he’s had enough,” laughs Yulia, “Abraham will poke you with his leg as if to say, ‘Hey lady! Put that pitchfork down and pay some attention to me!”
Yulia looks forward to her weekly volunteering at HEEFS where she spends most of her time cleaning the goat and sheep barn, and sharing some fun and special moments with her true sheep love, Abraham.
