On the move with Gladys and Yammy!

Individualized care is what HEEFS is dedicated to, and that dedication starts when a resident arrives and continues throughout their life with us. Individualized care means that each resident is continually assessed for their health and comfort, and we do everything possible to ensure their needs are met.

Helping our seniors enjoy life to the fullest

Like all of us, as our residents age, issues around mobility and comfort can become more common. Some of our senior residents, like our sheep, Gladys and Yammy, have arthritis in their joints - Gladys in her front legs and Yammy in her back legs, which can make standing and walking painful. We help manage their condition, and provide them with the best quality of life, through a variety of ways. These can include diet, supplements, and medication, along with more creative solutions.

Places to go…sheep to see…

Back in February, Gladys and Yammy were fitted with wheeled mobility devices. While it took Gladys a while to get used to having her new set of wheels, Yammy took to hers much more easily. Today, both ladies get to enjoy a few supervised hours a day doing “sheep” things, like grazing and exploring, with their wheels custom-fitted to help move them along with minimal stress on their joints.
